Orange Chocolate Fudge Squares

These orange chocolate fudge squares are rich, fudgy and ultra decadent. One taste and you won’t believe that they could be made using only 5 whole food ingredients!

This very quick and easy fudge makes a great healthy treat or energy boosting snack. It’s also vegan, gluten free and whole food plant-based with no added sugar. To make them completely raw, use cacao in place of the cocoa.

If you’d prefer you can also make this mix into bliss balls instead - just take small spoonfuls of the mixture and shape into balls then roll in coconut, cocoa or leave as is.

Orange Chocolate Fudge Squares

Yield: 16 squares
Prep time: 5 mins

Ingredients

¾ c almonds ¾ c walnuts ¼ c cocoa 2 c dates 2 tsp orange zest

Directions

  1. Start by checking your dates. Most dates will be fine as is but occasionally I get a batch that are super hard. Try squeezing one between your finger and thumb, if it squashes then you’re good to go, if you it just cracks or is too hard to squeeze, then soak your dates in boiling water for 5-10 minutes then drain.
  2. Add the almonds and walnuts to a food processor or high speed blender and blend until there are no large lumps left (this should only take 20-30 seconds).
  3. Add the cocoa, dates and orange zest and blend until smooth and mixture sticks together. You’ll need to stop and scrape down the sides or use a tamper to get the mixture well blended.
  4. Press mixture into a 20cm square dish, cover and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  5. Cut into square and enjoy!
